Algae with many properties, Laminaria ochroleuca , also called golden algae, has a wide range of actions and has many virtues, beneficial for your skin! What are its virtues and what are the benefits of this organism for your skin?

We tell you everything!

SEAWEED IN COSMETICS, WHAT ADVANTAGES?

Seaweed has become a popular ingredient in the cosmetics industry due to its many beneficial properties for skin and hair. These marine organisms are full of essential nutrients, as well as organic elements such as proteins, sugars, fatty acids and even vitamins, thus offering a wide range of benefits for skin and hair care. Seaweed is also renowned for its ability to hydrate, condition and soothe the skin, in addition to stimulating collagen production.

Thanks to their high content of amino acids, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C and antioxidants, seaweed helps to deeply nourish the skin, reduce the signs of skin aging and improve the elasticity of the skin. Their ability to absorb minerals from seawater also gives them remineralizing and purifying properties!

THE BENEFITS OF LAMINARIA OCHROLEUCA, ALSO CALLED GOLDEN SEAWEED

Among the many species of algae used in cosmetics, this golden algae stands out for its unique and beneficial properties for skin care. This is widely present on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, thus allowing local supply !

Golden algae is renowned for its ability to intensely hydrate the skin, improve its elasticity and strengthen its natural protective barrier. Thanks to its richness in polysaccharides, this brown seaweed also promotes cell regeneration and helps maintain healthy, radiant skin.

This algae is found in shallow salt water, submerged or emerged. Depending on its depth and growing conditions, it is subject to variations in temperature, sunshine and salinity each season!

Particularly sensitive to high temperatures and strong exposure to UV rays, this algae has been able to cause, over time, certain changes in its chemical composition in order to survive. Among other things, it has acquired a large quantity of polyphenols, essential in antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and protective reactions against UVB rays ( 1 , 2 )!

Extracts of golden algae introduced into cosmetics are therefore considered as natural and soothing ingredients for the skin, on several levels. Indeed, they act as anti-inflammatory agents on skin irritations by stimulating the skin's immune response and protecting DNA from UV damage, thanks to its antioxidants ( 3 )! These make it possible to fight against the free radicals generated by external aggressions, which are responsible for the premature aging of the skin. The antioxidants contained in the golden algae therefore help prevent and reduce the appearance of our wrinkles and fine lines, while promoting firmness of the skin.

You can find its soothing, hydrating, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action in our Sculpt & Glow Face Treatment Oil . Not only does this oil soothe the skin, but it also fights free radicals caused by the external aggressions you have been exposed to all day (pollution, UV, tobacco, etc.). Ultimately, this is the perfect treatment to include urgently in your skincare routine!
